Postcard Douai 1914-18, destroyed Rue de Bellain, WWI, France
Original old postcard from the First World War (La Grande Guerre 1914-18), depicting the destroyed Rue de Bellain street in the French city of Douai. On the front side there is a black and white photo of the ruins and damaged buildings after the bombing, the local buildings and the original environment are clearly visible. The postcard has a description in French and English: Ce qui reste de la Rue de Bellain – Combat remains of the Bellain Street . The back side is described by hand, with a period stamp of the Republic of France (15c) and a Douai postmark. Beautiful historical document of the state of the city just after the fighting. Excellent condition considering its age, suitable for collectors of historical postcards and lovers of military history.
