Postcard Žinkovy Chateau by the Pond, Czechoslovakia, 1976
Original old postcard with a motif of the romantic Žinkovy castle, located on the bank of a pond in a beautiful park. The postcard dates from the Czechoslovakian period and is marked with a period stamp and postmark from 1976. On the back there is a printed description of the castle: A romantic castle with a large park on the bank of a large upper pond, built on the site of an ancient water fortress. The exhibition hall was rebuilt into its current form in 1916 using Gothic and Baroque motifs from a number of Czech and Moravian castles. The picturesque castle, comfortably furnished in modern times, today serves as a recreational center of the ROH. The postcard is in good condition, with a handwritten greeting addressed to Alois Vykočil. An excellent collector's item focused on the architecture of Czech castles and the history of Czechoslovakia.
