Ethnographic postcard from World War I – countryside, soldiers, 1916
A historical postcard with an ethnographic motif depicts a rural scene from the early 20th century. In the foreground are soldiers in uniforms from the First World War period, resting on the grass in front of a rural cottage with a thatched roof and a simple fence. In the background, a woman in traditional clothing can be seen. On the back is the handwritten date 4. 6. 1916. The postcard is unposted, shows signs of age, slight soiling and patina. A great collector's item illustrating the period's rural and military environment.
