Original black and white postcard from 1917, depicting three soldiers in uniform playing chess at a garden table. The postcard is dated June 23, 1917, which is handwritten on the back. The period atmosphere of the early 20th century is evident from the expressions of the characters, their uniforms and the garden setting. The postcard has not yet been used for mailing.
