Old postcard – march of soldiers and children, circa 1910–1920
This old black-and-white photograph shows a long column of people marching along a country road lined with trees and telegraph poles. The group is mostly men, probably soldiers or participants in some organized march, with a few children in the front. The photograph probably dates from the first half of the 20th century – probably during or just after World War I, judging by the style of clothing, hats, and overall aesthetic of the image.
The scene may depict either the return of soldiers, a militia exercise, or some community or ceremonial event. The tree-lined avenue and country road create a natural backdrop and atmosphere of the time.
