Older postcard with a reproduction of the famous portrait of Madame Récamier by the painter Jacques-Louis David. The postcard was published by Stengel & Co., Dresden, with the description Portrait de Mme Récamier on the back. On the front is a beautifully executed color reproduction of a young woman in antique clothing lying on an Empire sofa. The postcard bears signs of age - minor corner scuffs and patina on the back, but is clean, unmarked, without a postmark. Suitable for a collection of painter's postcards or as an interesting piece for the interior.
