Historical postcard – Emperor Rudolf II signs his majesty (1609)
Historical postcard depicting Emperor Rudolf II. signing the Edict of Majesty on June 9, 1609, according to which Evangelicals and Czech Brethren could also freely profess their faith, build schools and churches. The postcard is part of the series History of the Czech Nation in Paintings by the painter Jos. Mathauser. The postcard is in very good collector's condition, unposted, with minor traces of time on the edges. On the reverse there is only an inventory stamp and number. A great piece for lovers of Czech history and collectors of postcards with historical themes.
