Postcard – girl in folk costume, ethnography, 1939, sent
An old postcard with a folk theme, depicting a portrait of a young woman in a traditional costume under a blossoming tree. The artistic illustration is signed by J. Štand, probably from the first half of the 20th century. On the back of the postcard there is a handwritten message and a postmark with a legible date of sending 15.12.1939. The postcard was sent from Chotovice to Prague. The postcard bears a historical stamp of Czechoslovakia with a face value of 50h. The condition corresponds to its age, the corners and edges are slightly worn, but the postcard remains a rare ethnographic and collector's item.
