Easter postcards – Chodsko, tradition, J. Douba, ethnography
An Easter postcard with an ethnographic motif based on a painting by J. Douba depicts a traditional custom from the Chodsko region. The obverse depicts a man in a traditional costume receiving traditionally decorated eggs from girls during the Easter holidays. The scene takes place in a rural yard with typical cottages in the background. The postcard was sent and contains handwritten text and a stamp from Austria-Hungary. On the reverse side, in addition to the address, there is a short description of the tradition. A beautiful collector's item representing the Czech countryside and traditions of the early 20th century.
The text description is for guidance only and may not always be 100% accurate - what you see in the photos is what matters.
