Postcard Švihov Castle – interiors and exterior, late Gothic moated castle
The postcard depicts the late Gothic water castle Švihov, built by Půta Švihovský in 1480–1510. The Benedictine builder of the late Gothic period, Ben. Rejt of Pístov, played a significant role in the construction. The postcard contains both an overall view of the castle and a number of interior scenes with historical weapons, armor and furniture, which evoke the authentic atmosphere of the late Middle Ages. Well-preserved color print, suitable for collectors of postcards focused on architecture, castles and chateaux, or lovers of Czech monuments. Print by Severografia Děčín, photo by M. Racek, M.
