Postcard Oberwiesenthal GDR – cable car, winter sports, 1980s

Original postcard of Oberwiesenthal (Kr. Annaberg), a popular summer and winter resort in Saxony, former GDR. On the front side there is a collage of photographs depicting a ski resort, a cable car, a lookout tower and typical winter panoramas with athletes on the slopes. Text in German 'Sommer- und Winterkurort Oberwiesenthal' (Summer and winter resort). On the back side there is a handwritten greeting and a 25 pfennig DDR postage stamp. The postcard was actually sent, addressed to the former Czechoslovakia. A great piece for collectors of historical postcards, the theme of transport - cable cars and winter sports, as well as those interested in the history of the DDR.
