Postcard Sweden – Värdshuset Snapphanen Markaryd, a historic inn
Original postcard from Markaryd, Sweden, specifically from the historic inn Värdshuset Snapphanen (Europahotel E4). The postcard depicts the exterior of the inn and the interior of the common room. It also contains an interesting description of the history - this is the place where the second oldest post office in Sweden was established in 1620, at a time when Markaryd was a border area adjacent to Denmark. The Snapphanen inn has been known since the 16th century and became significantly famous thanks to the figure of Nils Nilsson during the Snapphanen period in the 17th century. The text and illustrations beautifully complement the Swedish historical atmosphere. The postcard is unmarked and in very good condition, suitable for collectors or lovers of Scandinavia.
The text description is for guidance only and may not always be 100% accurate - what you see in the photos is what matters.
