Queen Anne's Summer Palace, Prague – historical postcard, singing fountain
The postcard depicts Queen Anne's Summer Palace (Belvedere) in Prague, including the famous singing fountain. The Summer Palace is an important Renaissance monument, built in 1538–1560 on the order of Ferdinand I. The author of the design was Giovanni de Spatio, the builder B. Wohlmut. The fountain under the summer palace is the work of Tomáš Jaroš from Brno and dates from 1568. The postcard depicts a detail of the architecture and the beauty of the garden, which is further supported by the artistic treatment by the painter J. Novotný. On the back there is a historical description of the object in Czech and French. The condition of the postcard corresponds to its age, the corners are slightly worn, the print is still clearly legible, this is a great collector's item for lovers of architecture, Prague monuments and historical postcards.
