I am offering an old postcard with a historical theme, depicting the famous painting Das letzte Aufgebot by Franz Defregger. The postcard captures a striking scene of the villagers leaving for battle, the atmosphere of old Germany and scenes from village life. The foreground is dominated by a group of men with rifles, in the background you can see the period architecture and passing villagers. The black and white reproduction looks authentic, beautiful detailed drawing. On the back there is a description in German, a field for the address and stamp, unused. Published by Verlag Hermann A. Wischmann, Goslar a. Harz. Print by J. Löwy, Kunstanstalt Wien, No. 101. Overall very good condition with slight traces of age, suitable for a collection of historical postcards from Germany.
