Postcard Pernštejn – historical castle, Czech Republic
Postcard with the motif of Pernštejn Castle in the Czech Republic. The castle was founded in the 13th century by the famous William of Pernštejn and rebuilt around 1415. The text on the back contains a brief history of the castle - it was besieged by the Olomouc bishop Jan Železný, but the defenders, led by Mr. William, put up stiff resistance. The castle burned down in 1457. It housed an art archive and library, later served as a fortress and has belonged to the Mitrovský family since 1818. Published by Minerva, Prague, Spálená 48. The postcard beautifully depicts a castle in a picturesque landscape. Postcard suitable for a collection, a collector's item with historical value.
The text description is for guidance only and may not always be 100% accurate - what you see in the photos is what matters.
