Catalog number: M430

Old view of the Czech Library with globes, 1933, small format

This old postcard depicts the beautiful interiors of a historic library, probably from the Czech Republic, with high shelves full of books and a richly decorated ceiling with frescoes. The library is also equipped with two huge globes, which gives the entire space an atmosphere of education and tradition. The postcard is black and white, small in size, dated to the period before 1950, as evidenced by the 1933 stamp on the back and the original Czechoslovak stamp. On the back of the postcard is a handwritten message addressed to the Rakovník area, which further illustrates the period authenticity and collector's value of this artifact. The postcard is suitable for collectors of old postcards, history and library lovers, or those interested in Czech cultural history. The state of preservation corresponds to its age, with visible signs of use, which, however, do not detract from its aesthetic and historical value.
