Old Prague, prison carriage in front of the city prison, circa 1905

A historical postcard depicting the so-called Green Anton (also nicknamed Black Maria) in front of the prison in Prague, around 1905. The image comes from the Z. Reach archive and depicts a horse-drawn prison carriage used to transport prisoners. The postcard offers a unique view of old Prague and its urban infrastructure more than a hundred years ago, including the period equipment of the guards. On the back there is a description in Czech, English and German. Excellent condition, unpublished. A very interesting piece for collectors of historical postcards or those interested in the history of transport and Prague.
