Postcard Joseph Brant – Mohawk Chief, portrait by Charles Peale
Postcard with a portrait of Joseph Brant (1742-1807), who was a famous Mohawk chief. The original portrait was painted by Charles Willson Peale in 1797 during Joseph Brant's visit to Philadelphia as a guest of the federal government. The postcard is a reproduction of this portrait, which is kept in Independence National Historical Park, Philadelphia. The postcard is unworn, in very good condition, suitable for collectors of ethnography or those interested in the history of North American Indians.
