Historical postcard Czech Republic 1916 – Jan Hus

An old postcard from 1916, specifically from the cycle From the Great Age in Bohemia – Series II, published by the K. Čudy publishing house in Dobruška. The postcard was sent from prison during the First World War and contains a unique handwritten text with a quote from Shakespeare and a personal message. On the front side is a reproduction of an artwork with the theme of a prisoner at a desk in the light from the window, originally by Josef Šerba. The condition corresponds to its age – the postcard bears significant signs of use, abrasions and small folds, see photo. A rare and collectible piece with a historical story!
