Easter postcard – girl in folk costume with a basket of eggs, 1932, Bráničký
An old Easter postcard from the period of the First Republic. On the front side there is a painted portrait of a girl in a traditional costume holding a basket of eggs, with the wish of a Happy Easter and a rich pomlázka. The author is akadem. painter C. Bráničký. The back side of the postcard contains a handwritten message and a Czechoslovakia 50 haller stamp, with a postmark from 1932. The postcard bears traces of age (burrs and dirt), which adds an authentic patina and collector's value. An exceptional ethnographic motif suitable for a collection of traditional customs and crafts.
