Christmas postcard – Bohemian countryside, drawing by Karel Nejedlý, 1910
I am offering a beautiful old postcard with a Christmas theme, which dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. On the front side there is a colorful illustration with an ethnographic motif - a scene from the Czech countryside, where children bring home a Christmas present. The postcard is provided with the Czech Christmas text "Merry Christmas!" and a short poem. The postcard was painted by the prominent academic painter Karel Nejedlý, as stated in the margin. The back side is described by hand and provided with an Austro-Hungarian stamp with a portrait of Franz Joseph I, which contributes to the collector's value. The motif and design will delight lovers of old postcards, Czech Christmas and ethnographic motifs. The postcard is in good condition with minor signs of age on the edges, which is common for such old exhibits.
The text description is for guidance only and may not always be 100% accurate - what you see in the photos is what matters.
