Catalog number: M1147

Postcard of a nightingale with a drum and a dog, Czechoslovakia 1925, small format

An old postcard from Czechoslovakia, dated 1925. The postcard is printed in a small format and has the theme of a winter village with a figure of a nightingale in a fur coat and a drum accompanied by a dog. The motif is accompanied by a New Year's wish and the text: "On the holy New Year's night I call: God protect with your power our every family and that Czech silence!". On the back of the postcard there is a handwritten message and a used postage stamp from the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic, postmark Hradec Králové. The publisher is Vincentinum, a house of mercy in Prague-Břevnov. A great collector's item with patina for collections from the period of the First Republic or as a nostalgic gift.

The text description is for guidance only and may not always be 100% accurate - what you see in the photos is what matters.
