Postcard Aero A-18 – Czechoslovak biplane, postmarked, 1983
Original postcard depicting the famous Aero A-18 biplane, a successful Czechoslovak fighter aircraft from the 1920s. The front of the postcard features a color photograph of the aircraft in front of the hangar. The back contains detailed text about the history of the aircraft and its technical parameters. The aircraft was manufactured in the Prague Aero factory and participated in a number of races; interesting features include the use of a BMW IIIa inline engine and armament consisting of two machine guns. The maximum speed in the racing version exceeded 270 km/h. The postcard has been mailed, and is equipped with a period stamp and a postmark from 1983. A great collector's item for lovers of aviation history or postcards with a transportation theme.
