Christmas postcard by M. Fischerová-Kvěchová – ethnography, 1920s

An old postcard with a Christmas theme and an ethnographic motif based on an illustration by M. Fischerová-Kvěchová, which was used in the book Našim dětem. The postcard depicts a traditional domestic scene with children and a mother with a baby in a cradle, in a festively decorated interior. Printed in Prague, publisher B. Kočí. The postcard was sent, has an Austro-Hungarian stamp and a neatly handwritten greeting with wishes for Christmas and the New Year. The format is typical for the period of the early 20th century. A very valuable piece of Czech ethnography, both as a collector and as a decoration, suitable for collectors of historical postcards and lovers of traditional Christmas.
