Old Christmas – ethnographic postcard, throwing a slipper, 1941
An old postcard with a motif of traditional Czech Christmas customs – throwing a slipper. The postcard depicts a rural family in folk costumes in a cottage, including a dancer and children, in a colorful drawing by Josef Otakar Štěrba. On the front side there is the inscription “Merry Christmas!” and rich details of the interior with period furniture. The back side is described, with a postmark from 1941 and a stamp Bohemia and Moravia (Böhmen und Mähren, 60 h). Issued by: Vincentinum, a house of mercy in Prague – Břevnov. An excellent collector's item with a touch of Christmas traditions and historical value.
